If you want to change the date and time on your Chromebook continuously then here is what you need to do:

  • Sign In to the Chromebook first of all.
  • At the bottom of your device, click on Time.
  • Now, click on Settings and scroll down to the Menu, and select Advanced from the left panel.
  • From this section, select Date and Time, check the right pane, and click on the Time Zone option.
  • Click on the arrow right next to it and click on Choose from list.
  • Now, you can select the right time zone and set the time and date as per your wish.
  • You can even set the option to ‘Use 24-hour clock’ if you need to see the time in 24-hour format instead of 12-hour format which comes by default.

This will change the date and time on your lock screen as well and you will not face the problem of incorrect date and time showing up on your Chromebook anymore.

One thing to note here is that when you are traveling and using a VPN connection then you can let the Chromebook automatically adjust the date and time by using WiFi or Cellular signals to determine the current date and time.

  • In order to do this, follow the above guide till Step 5 and select Set Automatically instead of Choose from list. 

This will make the Chromebook use your IP address and detect your appropriate location and set your date and time according to the location.
